A sample of 100 shades from the more than 8,000 already produced^* and donated by Kim R. Rebholz to The Friends of the Grand Nuancier association for its creation.

Namely that 8,000 shades on A4 format (21 x 29.7 cm), arranged in a 10 x 800 grid (edge to edge, excluding frames and spacing), a strip 2.10 metres high by 237,6 metres wide, (that is to say more than two and a half times the size of Claude Monet’s Water Lilies installation at the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, comprising 8 panels and measuring a total of 2 by 91 metres).

* In watercolour and/or gouache and/or ink and/or acrylic on various types of A4 paper.

** These Water Lilies are undoubtedly, alongside the master of Giverny’s other marvellous series (Haystacks, Poplars, Mornings, Rouen Cathedrals, London and Venetian series, etc.), an ultimate model for the Grand Nuancier.
