שלום PEACE سلام

If I had to name today one place, among all, to house the Grand Nuancier and make it radiate as a symbol of peace, I, a Franco-Swiss cosmopolitan of Jewish and diverse origins, would undoubtedly say “Jerusalem”. Filled with a blend of horror and hope. Horror in the face of the abominations, echoing so sinisterly, committed on 7 October and since, on these lands of high culture, pluralistic for thousands of years, “thrice holy”, repeatedly “promised” and which alas constitute – spiritual and temporal issues intertwining here – one of the oldest conflict zones of humanity. But also, the keenest hope that Yerushaláyim / Al Quds, at the centre of this borderless chessboard as both a problem and… a solution, may one day become the cradle of a new polychrome and harmonious togetherness. The shared capital of two federated states universally recognized: Israel & Palestine. And the “family home” for these different communities – local, regional and worldwide – who, back from so far, would henceforth enjoy life reunited. In accordance with what Jerusalem, this “light unto the nations”, means in Hebrew as well as in Arabic: “Stay in peace”.
