Sample of the grand nuancier works

(This page will be updated weekly)

A sample of 100 shades from the more than 7,000 already produced* and donated by Kim R. Rebholz to The Friends of the Grand Nuancierassociation for its creation.

Namely that 7,000 shades on A4 format (21 x 29.7 cm), arranged in a 10 x 700 grid (edge to edge, excluding frames and spacing), a strip 2.10 metres high by 207.90 metres wide, (that is to say more than twice the size of Claude Monet’s Water Lilies installation at the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, comprising 8 panels and measuring a total of 2 by 91 metres).

* In watercolour and/or gouache and/or ink and/or acrylic on various types of A4 paper.

** These Water Lilies are undoubtedly, alongside the master of Giverny’s other marvellous series (HaystacksPoplarsMorningsRouen Cathedrals, London and Venetian series, etc.), an ultimate model for the Grand Nuancier.
